Fire near Airport Link Ramkhamhaeng Station

Shocking: Fire breaks out at shops near the Airport Link Ramkhamhaeng Station, destroying 30 shops. Ramkhamhaeng Station is now open, but the escalators are still temporarily closed. Fire burns down NASA Street building near Airport Link Ramkhamhaeng Station, Ramkhamhaeng Road, Hua Mak Subdistrict, Bang Kapi District, Bangkok early this morning. The incident occurred in a 3-story building approximately 4 meters from the stairs to the BTS. The incident occurred on the first floor, which is a rental lot. The fire started in a clothing store and quickly spread to a nail salon. Since most of the stores are clothing stores, officers cut off the electricity and used water to extinguish the fire for about 20 minutes. Approximately 30 stores were damaged, but no one was injured or killed. From the investigation, Ms. Nipaporn, 25 years old, a convenience store employee who lives near the scene, stated that at around 4:30 a.m., she smelled something burning coming into the store. At first, she thought there was an e lectrical short circuit in the store, so she went to look behind the store and did not see anything unusual. However, when she went to look in front of the store, she saw a lot of smoke and flames on the ground floor of the building. She brought fire extinguisher to help spray and put it out, but it could not be put out. She quickly called the fire truck to come and help put out the fire. Later at 5:30 a.m., Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, traveled to inspect the scene of the incident and called relevant officials to inquire about the incident. He also urged officials to take care of the safety of those using the Airport Link Ramkhamhaeng Station. He revealed that he was jogging in Yaowarat and when he found out about the incident, he rushed to inspect it. Initially, there was a shop that was damaged only on the first floor and the Airport Link announced the temporary closure of this station. At 08.29 am, Ramkhamhaeng Station is open, but the escalator is still temporarily closed.
